The Creepy Crawl Chronicles - Session 9

Realized I didn’t do one of these on Monday. (Monday circa post Thanksgiving November 2013) Am I forgetting any loot from then? I think you checked out the room with the glass tubes where Ritzy came from, found the secret door into the ooze’s lair, climbed the crypt, and slaughtered 2 of the 3 rat critters and let the survivor scamper off into the woods.
Three blindsided mice.

Commentary:

This session saw the return of the player whose last character, Kerowack the thief, didn't even last a single room's worth of exploration. This time around he rolled up a homanculous named Ritzy (in tribute to the famous scene from Young Frankenstien.) I wouldn't be surprised if the combined toughness and ease of resurrection were class features that appealed to him.

They found him in a room full of giant glass specimen tubes, mostly full of weird rat abominations. (One thing I'll say about the schlock horror genre, it presents a lot of interesting ways to introduce characters in situ. Beats tavern crawling or tacking up notices on the local job board.)

The party pretty much mopped up Von Rattschmid's lab, connected the dots between the lab and the lair of the grey ooze (which I recall they ran away from like a bunch of little sissies when they figured out where they were) and finally climbed a shaft up to one of the crypts in the graveyard above, where they found the last trio of the mad rodent enthusiast's creations and laid a whuppin' on 'em.

Stay tuned for next week, when things start to get a bit hairy for the group.
